Your Resting Place

Written by Tim Cole

Rest is a critical human need.  God designed our physical and emotional beings to enable us to accomplish great things, but they weren’t designed to work 24/7. They were designed to “work” like batteries that have a finite amount of energy and resource. After discharging that energy, batteries need to be recharged and replenished before the next challenge or task.

Our secular and church cultures often work against us getting enough rest ...

Making the Call

Written by Tim Cole

Not everything that occurs in our natural lives directly correlates to a deep spiritual truth about ourselves (that would deny the presence of other natural and spiritual parties vying for influence over us). I do believe, however, that God will often use specific vignettes from our natural lives as revelational tools for our understanding and growth.

I had one of those moments recently when I pulled my lawn mower out of the garage...

We serve an unchanging God!  He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.  Wow, that is a great thought.  I believe that sometimes we get the impression that God is bipolar or mentally unstable.  Now I know we would never admit that out loud, but we can still perceive that Gods thoughts and heart change depending on our day and our actions or His.  What a relief to know that this is so far from the truth.  He never changes.  He is always in a good mood and He is head over heels ...

DTA - Divine Transportation Authority

Written by Tim Cole

God has always been into transportation.  There's Enoch's heavenly walk, Noah's water ride, Elijah's chariot ride, and Jesus' donkey ride that will turn into a white horse ride for the ages.  Psalm 68:33 tells us that God even rides upon the heavens.  Who knew He was so into transportation?

God is also into providing for His family - you and I as His sons and daughters. He has planned for it and looks forward to it. Since His wealth is unsearchable and inexhaustible, He has never had ...

Has Anyone Called You “Fruity” Lately?

Written by Dawn Cole

Has anyone ever called you "fruity?"  Well if no one else has, I will.  You are fruity!  Your life looks like a tree planted by the river that is popping out all kinds of fruit every day!  You are a real "fruit ninja." Shall I go on?  You may be thinking I'm the one who is fruity.  Well, I am, thank you for noticing!  Now that we have the pleasantries out of the way, let's talk fruit.  No, not strawberries, goose berries or watermelon, ...

The Power of Love

Written by Dawn Cole

"Love is a beautiful thing". I think someone wrote a song about that.  Isn't it amazing that God built the foundation of His kingdom on that very thing - love. He didn't choose power or intellect or stature. Everything He created and does comes from the motivation of a burning heart of love.  That is an amazing thought itself, but grab ahold of this one, you are the one He loves!

Psalms tells us ...

Living from the Cloud

Written by Tim Cole

In case you might have spent the last decade in a computer coma, let me update you on how much the world has changed.  The world of computing has transitioned from doing and storing everything on your local machine to off-site storage and backup, and web-based email and publishing. Even the way most software is delivered and updated, including from big box software companies such as Microsoft and Adobe, has dramatically changed and is now almost exclusively being managed from the web.  In short, we now live in the era of the “Cloud”.  In short, we now live in the era of the “Cloud”

Hiccups & the Unexpected

Written by Tim Cole

Having a plan is often the single difference between arriving at God-designed success or getting lost in life. And by plan I mean having had a real conversation with God about what His plan is and aligning my sights and effort with His.  Engaging His plan with intentional effort (cooperation) is the second most important factor in our realizing His best for our lives.

The Rear View Mirror

Written by Tim Cole

God has given us everything we need to become safe drivers of our lives (3 Peter 1:3).  Our memories are a gift from God to help us see in the rear view mirror a reflection of where we have been.  Add meditation & contemplation to our memories and we have been given the important capacity to see our lives in perspective and context.  Overlaying God’s principle and purpose for our lives on that framework, gives us the ability to learn from our past...

Overcoming the Weight of Pressure

Written by Tim Cole

One recent Saturday morning as the pressures of life were building into an “overwhelming” wave about to wipe me out, Holy Spirit broke into my windup sequence as I started into my default “push” to “handle it”.  He asked me a simple question that both deflated the power of the pressures and disengaged me from the futility of my own
