Think on These Things

When David was a shepherd boy watching over his father’s sheep he was faced with situations where God revealed his warrior heart. You have heard many times the stories of David killing the lion and the bear (1 Samuel 17:34-35). God began training David from his earliest years. It was in God’s heart for David to lead the armies of Israel and to conquer their enemies and thusly, King David became known as a mighty warrior.

God taught David to commune with Him, to hear His voice and to be acquainted with His supernatural power before he faced the enemy. It was after learning to trust God working through him to kill the lion and the bear that he confidently faced a new situation: Goliath taunting the armies of Israel...
